Thanks all. I dont blame the horse at all. I'm still very "new" to english style riding, and for all I know, and kept telling my poor instructor, it could have been something I did. She's still apologizing.

I'm telling ya tho, it was one HELLUVA ride. Would have been so awesome if I'd been in control. Incredible.

Glad ya'll aren't in the "dont get back on those monsters" crowd. Sheesh. I keep telling folks it's not any different than bikes as far as doing it. You know when you throw the leg over, be it horse or bike you're taking a risk.

I want to know it all when it comes to this stuff. I was always a horse crazy kid, but now with the options to actually be around them, and have a monster of my own, it's so exciting. I sometimes lose sight of that because I'm working so hard to get this certification. If I pass, I plan on going to college and getting a degree in some type of therapy so I could work my own program. I could have a career I'd actually love versus doing something just to pay the bills.

I also plan on learning to train horses as well. I know the Parelli is a big one, but there are so many others, all basically the same. It is incredible when you start learning to "speak" their language to them. Just indescribable. I will learn on my own guy. He's definitely a man hater, but lately he's taken on a whole new set of bad habits, to the point the place he's staying and the vet are recommending a complete retrain. I just cant start till after I get my certs as its taking so much time.

They really are magic. I absolutely love them. And it brings me to tears to see the kids I work with improve. One girl I started with a few months ago was so afraid of them she couldnt even stand near them. Now, she's doing her own grooming, leading, and riding. She's had a few scares, and I'm so proud that she's working through them. Her mom already has other kids lining up to work with me, and may be interested in letting me use her place as a facility for my instructing.

Sorry to spew. It's just such a big part of my life right now, I can't help it. As for my horse, he's just a mutt, but to me he's incredible. And after looking at CL just now out of curiosity, I def need to stay away from it. With such a bad economy, ppl are giving away horses worth thousands! *sigh* I want them ALL!!

I cant resist. Here he is. We dont do the western style, it was just for a parade before he decided to forget how to be good. And start rodeoing on his own. *sigh* I can stay on a bucking horse, but not a running one.
