It was a couple years ago. It was a decent car, just that it barely got 20 mpg. I picked it up at Ohare, drove it to Naperville, and then back and forth between the hotel and customer.

Now I do tend to flog my rental cars

"At G.M., Innovation Sacrificed to Profits"

They didnt really do a good job there... since profits seem to be hurting.

The attitude in GM marketing & finance is, "wow you went to School X and worked for 3M or Procter & Gamble, you must be a top-notch guy, we'll hire you"

Regardless of whether that person liked cars, or knew anything about them.....

That's a lot of the attitudes of the executives. They don't care if you have an interest/background in the product they're giving. You know business, you know dollars, so business is business everywhere, right? Yeah... wtf ever. I'm sure if all you do is soak up $$$ by reducing employee incintives and initiatives to pad your fat fucking paycheck and pay for the golf resort you went to with two of your closest buddies having a circle jerk really makes the bottom line shine, huh?

yep. unfortunately, that's not just in the auto industry. Anyone who's worked in corporate America has, at one time or another, had a boss that doesn't know dick about the job but demands the world...
