Default Airplane/Pilot People!

Anyone know how it works when you rent a plane(like a Cessna 172) and you fly for like 2 hours total, but you are staying over night somewhere with it?

I'm sure I could call and just ask, but I'm too lazy right now.

Do they charge you for the flight hours and then like a service fee to have it overnight?

different clubs different rules. Ought to be by flight hours via the hobbs meter though. Maybe a charge per day you have it too. Dont forget that the fbo you park the plane at may have its own fees!

You don't get into flying on a cheap budget. Probably be cheaper to take a jump jet to wherever you are going.

They do have a couple of Pipers, thanks for the suggestion. Thing is, I am going to try and surprise my husband with this, so I need to find out which plane he'd prefer without letting on that I am going to rent it for him.

My husband is a pilot and has been wanting to rent a plane to take me out(I've yet to ride with him when he is flying). We were saving up to go on a 4-5 day vacation, but with my accident it's just not in the cards. So this is the next option.

So I was going to do this for our anniversary and stay out in one of our favorite little towns for the night and come back.

Beleive me, I KNOW that flying is not cheap. I have the student loans from his schooling to prove it!

ok since this is a surprise remember that. he has to be checked out in the model and type. If you dont want him to twig to your plans look through his log book and see what he has been flying. Pipers show up as pa-** with the * being numbers.
