Shocker. Obama’s Top Political Advisor Directly Linked to Occupy Wall Street Protests
Posted by Jim Hoft on Monday, October 10, 2011, 11:45 AM

Obama’s ACORN operative in the White House Patrick Gaspard, a former Working Families Party associate, is helping shape domestic policy–

From left: CECILIA MUĂ‘OZ, director, intergovernmental affairs; MICHAEL STRAUTMANIS, public liaison; CHRISTOPHER LU, Cabinet secretary; HEATHER HIGGINBOTTOM, deputy director, Domestic Policy Council; PATRICK GASPARD, political director; PHIL SCHILIRO, director of legislative affairs; MELODY BARNES, director, Domestic Policy Council. (New America Today Mag)

Obama political advisor Patrick Gaspard holds the same White House position his Bush-era predecessor, Karl Rove, did. But before he was the White House political czar he worked in several far left organizations as activist and agitator.
NLPC.org reported:

Quote:
One of the more disturbing aspects of the Obama-ACORN connection is that the White House political affairs director is one Patrick Gaspard.

Gaspard doesn’t register on the media radar screen in the way that his immediate Bush-era predecessor, Karl Rove, did. But as the New Orleans-based ACORN has been implicated in a host of illegal schemes ranging from voter registration fraud to embezzlement to tax evasion, he may get there. That’s because prior to assuming his current job, Gaspard, at least according to ACORN founder Wade Rathke, had been political director for the New York City chapter of ACORN under Bertha Lewis, who last year replaced Rathke as the group’s chief organizer and CEO. What’s more, he’s worked closely with the ACORN-controlled Working Families Party and the largest local within the Service Employees International Union.
This weekend the Working Families Party of New York, Gaspard’s organization, placed an ad on Craig’s list for paid activists to fight Wall Street.

Here’s their ad:

Quote:
The Working Families Party (WFP) (www.workingfamiliesparty.org) is New York’s most energetic, independent and progressive political party. Formed in 1998 by a grassroots coalition of community organizations, neighborhood activists, and labor unions, we came together to build a society that works for all of us, not just Wall Street CEOs and the well-connected. WFP is independent from corporate and government funding and in-addition we are community based; community funded and equally uninfluenced by both major parties. Our agenda focuses on economic and social justice, corporate accountability, job creation, environmental protection, and investment in education and healthcare.

For the past twelve years the WFP has been at the fore front of progressive politics,

Leading the fight and helping to frame the debate. The WFP has a proud record of fighting for issues that matter and has been instrumental in implementing key pieces of legislation such as Raising New York’s Minimum Wage, Enacting Living Wage Laws, Creating Thousands of Jobs In the Green Economy, Passing Healthcare Reforms on the Local Level, Fighting for Affordable Housing, Keeping Tuition Costs Low, A Progressive Tax Code, Reliable/Cost Effective Public Transit System, Public Financing Of Elections and Corporate Accountability . In addition, we have an unapologetic stance on supporting and pushing good candidates to enact progressive legislation

The WFP is seeking immediate hires.

You must be an energetic communicator, with a passion for social and economic justice.

Only outgoing, articulate dedicated, determined candidates will be considered for the positions.

For those candidates that qualify WFP offers substantial paid-training provided by senior leadership, on varied issues such as: advocacy, public speaking, mobilizing, fundraising, networking and organizing. We invest in passionate people with excellent communication skills and a full benefits package is offered to those candidates that qualify. In addition, there is opportunity for advancement and travel to our satellite chapters and out of state affiliates.

This is not a policy job! Through direct action you will be shaping NY state politics for the next 20 years.

If you care about New York and want to help educate and mobilize around legislative campaigns-then we look forward to hearing from you!
Apply at http://www.workingfamiliesparty.org/jobs/.
What a coincidence!
The organization run by current White House political director Patrick Gaspard is paying far left activists to continue the protests against Wall Street. No wonder Barack Obama supports the far left protest movement!

Patrick Gaspard worked as an aide to Obama from 2009 to January of 2011. He was replaced by Jennifer O’Malley Dillon at the beginning of the year.
He is now working for the Democratic National Committee since January of this year.

Summary of orgs:
The Working Families Party of New York is not "Gaspard's" organization. Its a political party in New York. (Meaning...just another ticket along Republican, Democrat, Green, Libertarian, etc parties at the ballot box). To say that the WFP is controlled by ACORN is like saying that Republican party is controlled by the Glen Beck's nipple.

1199seiu - Drug, Hospital, and Health Care Employees Union (RN's hospital workers stuff like that).

Gaspard worked for the Union from 1999-2008
In 2004 he helped out "America Coming Together" PAC
(Summary of ACT - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...080201849.html )
When you work with Unions you need to know local politics, something Gaspard knows (New York Politics)
Gaspard offered some guidance to the Working families party (a political party that offers alternatives to existing democrats and republicans) while he was working for the Union.
Why?
As a lobbyist for the union (fucking nurses and their evil union and shit), he needs to make sure that the interest of the people he represents have a voice in NY politics meaning he made sure that laws passed in New York benefited the people he represented.

The article you posted and the linkages it is trying to make is just there to mislead and to plant shit in your head.

Its a tactic. They know most people will take the story at face value and they know that most people will ignore facts once they have formed an opinion.
Get the story out.
Fill it with keywords (spaced properly because they will assume much skimming will be done)

Summary.
Someoine who worked for the administration for two years in a BS position created by the Reagan administration went off to join the Democratic National convention and now does shit for a political party.

I have heard the same basic things from the Glenn Beck watchers at my office.

I don't doubt that it could be true but I haven't looked around to prove or disprove it.

More about the working Parties Family - It looks like the conservative blogs and forums are trying to paint this as an "ACORN" founded political party.
Its not.

Its a party founded mostly by folks who worked at Unions various other not for profit groups throughout the state (such as the evil Buffalo teachers union!!! UAW and AFL-CIO and also folks involved with the New York chapter of Acorn).
since ACORN has been demonized enough in the media and that what people remember...why not drop off all the other stuff and just say ACORN over and over again.

Since Gaspard worked for hospital's union, he ran in circles who were involved in the WFP (and he probably worked with people who worked for democratic party and even republican party....being a fucking lobbyist means you have to work with everyone in politics to make sure your clients voice are heard)

"Director of Political Affairs" at the Office of Political Affairs

Seems to me that no matter what political party you are from, the other party has folks that bounce between the private sector, gov positions, and political action comitees and other questionable organizations.
