Default Wire? What wire? Nobody said anything about a wire.

The horrifying moment a motorcycle rider in a high-flying circus jump snags his head on a guy-wire and plunges 25 feet... but he vows to start riding again as soon as he can

A high-flying motorcycle stunt man slammed into a guy-wire while performing a spectacular jump at a circus in Saginaw, Michigan, Sunday.

The clothesline hit knocked him off his motorcycle and sent him plummeting 25 feet to the ground as stunned spectators gasped in horror.

Josh Headford, 20, the rider, survived the terrible accident with a broken leg, wrist, elbow and shoulder. But, he said, he'll get back on his motorcycle as soon as he can pull his boots on again.

The entire incident was captured on video by a spectator, who feared the rider died in the crash.

'I was there with four kids, and at first, we thought it was part of the show,' Dion Mason told the Saginaw News.

'Then there was just shock and disbelief. We were just like everyone else, we couldn't see the extent of the injuries but we were shocked.'

Mr Headford said he would have made the jump, if it wasn't for the wire, which should never have been strung up in his way.

Still, he said, it won't stop him from attempting hair-raising jumps on his motorcycle again.

'It's all I do. It's how I make a living,' he said.

The accident also stunned the ringmaster, who soon closed down the Shiners Circus. He did not however, drop his booming showman's voice, even as he summed emergency workers help Mr Headford.

Professional stuntman: Headford, 20, says stunt riding is his job and he plans to continue despite the terrible accident

'I need a doctor immediately. This is not part of the performance,' he declared

Circus owner Brett Carden said it's a risky business.

'What are you going to change?' Carden told the News.

'These are professionals, and they're supposed to check everything and make sure it's good to go.'

I saw the footage and was thinking, "Isn't this the kind of situation where the wire will supposedly cut you in half?"
Maybe that only happens in stories parents tell their kids to keep them from riding their ATV's too fast.
