Heard they totally fucked it up. All the buzz about it sorta makes me want to pick up the book...

Yeah I was considering the book, the first one sounds good, then I read the wiki for the next two and they sound like the series dissolves into shit. So I lost interest.

It's got an interesting running man type plot to it, just doesn't look like it was developed beyond teenage girl level.

Heard about it on the radio this morning.

3500 theaters sold out across the country. Tickets are/were selling at a rate of 10 per second.

Read the wiki, the trilogy is about a love triangle as well as the stuff you mention. It appears to be everything the movie makes it out to be.
