I'm seriously stupid! I've been in an accident with someone who didn't have insurance, I made a claim to my insurance company, the body shop fixed my car and I was good to go. Kinda like when I got into an accident with someone who had insurance, I made a claim to my insurance company, the body shop fixed my car and I was good to go... I don't see the difference, I honestly don't. Hell, I don't even ask the other driver if they are insured, what do I care?

Right.

Yup. Not a care in the world... why would you want to hold someone accountable for their actions. If it was really an accident, then no problem. But, being hit by someone at fault in the situation - [running a stop, too fast for conditions, plowing into me] THAT I have an issue with. I should not have to pay for someone else being a dumb-dumb.

See honey-lamb that's the difference! I can see someone being angry that some dumb ass hit them, I once spent a few days in jail over losing my cool after an accident. I don't see why it matters if they have insurance or not. If you are covered then you have nothing to worry about. Your medical bills are paid, your property will be replaced, your vehicle will be repaired. Theirs won't. I pay for insurance because I want my shit covered NOT because I'm afraid of the law or whatever. Besides, if you are talking about suing the shit out of their insurance company, well I'm not sure how you're punishing them per se'. What really raises rates IMHO is the people that think that even though their medical bills are being paid and all of their expenses have been taken care of they still deserve thousands/millions of dollars on top of that.
