another no win sit.
our old school dist. implemented a "if you're closer then 2 mi, kids have to get themselves to school" parents bitched if you provide bus service for less then 2 milers, people bitch cuz "its so close" our dilema is going to be that, our grade school is less then 2 mi, BUT kids would have to cross a major intersection (future hwy).

We were just under the 2 miles to get to school and I some how survived ( I had been known to run with scissors too on occasion) and I either walked, rode a bicycle or bummed a ride. Tom |

I blame it on a greedy, “entitled”, socitey. Far too few people take responsibility for their own actions anymore.
That, and it should be a requirement to have a conscience to be a lawyer.

It's sad to me that a school has a retarded policy like this. Not only is it more expensive for the district - it's costly on the environment. Retards.

Just another perk of living in a litigious society where the administration has to do all they can to protect against that 1 worst case scenario that could maybe possibly happen.

It sucks. But in the schools defense I'm sure if they did get hit and the child/mother killed that school would probably be sued out the ass. People want to take risks but when the risk bites them in the ass they want money.
