must not be an advrider, it's customary to give a fellow advrider the finger instead of a wave. There's actually been some funny stories of nonadv people buying advrider bikes with adv stickers on them and them freaking out about people giving them the finger all the time.

lol, I am just talking about advrider.com forums, not actual bike trip advriders. I feel your pain, I am dying to take a long trip. Still assembling the pieces to do it. I need good camping gear, good jacket, boots, pants, then I am ready to start going.

I usually give the ADV wave....with black gloves few can tell
This gets you covered if you pass a chopper and the rider is too scared (AKA thinks he has to look like a baddass and NOT wave) to wave so YOU look like the real badass It's funny because if you go to a rally or big event (daytona etc) you can TELL who JUST got down there for the first time evah because they're waving...whereas the people who've been there before...or newbies after the first few minutes realize...you'd be perpetually waving the whole time you're there
