Regardless of which way you put it, that is the situation. A car is a HUGE investment, and unless you start your bon fires with hundred dollar bills even if something goes wrong and its not even his fault, it may produce hostile feelings. |

Hmmmmmm, I'd go with something more recent. I mean, my new Tundra get's 19mpg and it's fookin' huge. With a 10-year-old vehicle, you get 10-year-old problems.
And, I wouldn't buy a vehicle from a friend.

really all you can do is make sure the truck is tuned up... that you've got the tires aired up... (adding a bit more than normal op will help reduce contact patch and in turn drag)
but the best mod you can do... is teach yourself to drive all over again... gonna be hard coming from your bike... but drive slower... as your milage seems to go WAY down once you go to 65+... try to think ahead when you drive your cage... plan your trips so your taking the most efficent route. don't idle your vehicle... it uses more gas to idle for 6 sec than it does to shut it off and start it back up. http://www.google.com/search?q=hyper...ient=firefox-a |

I use a fuel conditioner that honestly brought my gas mileage from 17 to 19. Costs about 2 bucks for a 2 oz bottle that I put in each time I fill up. Also keeps the fuel system cleaner which means it will last longer. PM me if you want some more details.

If you're on an $800 a month income, you simply cant afford that jeep. instead find a decent little toyota truck and drive THAT. I"m on a pretty much $40 a month income right now and living with family, I can barely afford my bike even.
