Whether you like it or not, you can't argue the financial success of NASCAR. Unfortunately it looks like much of that model may be getting applied to AMA Racing, without first thinking if it is actually applicable.

Nascar peaked about 5 years ago. TV viewership has been declining steady ever since "The Chase" came about...

Well, it had its base before those days, got its 5 minutes in the sun with joe public, and now is returning to its home fan base. But it got those 5 minutes because everyone can relate to driving a car. Not everyone can relate to motorcycles, therefore 2 wheel racing will not receive the same 5 minutes. All we can hope is that they don't kill the existing fan base now, gain no new fans, and then have nothing in a few years.

They did do something right, and that was adopt WSBK rules.

They adopted SOME of them. What they need to do is essentially adopt all of them, which would make events in conjunction with FIM flow much more smoothly. We need to do the same up here.

I thought for whatever class the superbikes are, they adopted all of them, though I believe the teams were protesting so they might have made some changes.

Teams were wanting the AMA approved 09 rules, slightly less restrictive than WSBK rules. DMG kinda straddled it. I am certain that all 7 of the Supersport entries are club race modified and would get spanked by WSS machinery and teams...

Hey I love to watch a train wreck. We will see where US racing is in October 09 and hope for the best
