Um... we get paid fairly well over all as a profession. Here or the US. I dunno what the salary is like in the US and how the pay scale works, but it's all relative.

You start out here making 40 grand outta school (4 year degree) and we have one of the lowest paying provinces. Pretty good money for a 22 year old out of university. You'll never be without job prospects as a nurse - world wide opportunity.

We're all unionized here... I also top out at a pay scale after so many years, but things like contract negotiating make the difference. I don't think that's the case in the US. I can't really comment on the pay there although it's prolly better than here.

What ever country, you'll be taxed to hell and back.

My friend is a nurse (out of school 2 years now) and makes 70 grand a year. Not sure if that's common for Ontario or not.
