I started using it sometimes... but realized it didn't do much, especially compared to the kick ass front. Still tap it to flash the brake light, but that's about it. |

I have a few options for fixing it... first i could buy a cheetah racing upper fairing off ebay, 175 shipped, and have it painted. I've heard getting something painted like this is gonna be ridiculously expensive and not worth it probably. I could also replace it with the OEM part, I've found it for around 260 shipped online. so thats what I'm leaning towards right now, simplest solution by far. any suggestions???
The new pipe will probably done pretty soon, within a month if i can. I'm leaning towards yoshimura... basically my budget is 400 total, installed. I found someone willing to do the install (I'd rather not) but idk if he's trustworthy (friend of a friend). he says he'll charge labor for 1.5 hours. whats the difference between TRS and RS3 exhaust? besides the shape, and about $15 in price... any opinions on the sound? i didnt know I'm gonna be dropping this much cash on the bike this soon... but the pipe getting scratched up makes me really want a new exhaust. does anyone think i can get any money from selling the cracked upper and scratched pipe?

Duct tape on the outside to hold it together temporarily, take off the fairing and buy some epoxy. Put it on the back, let it dry, then remove the duct tape. Wait till winter to spend money on a new fairing. |

well I'll have the cash to spend on it after this summer, but it certainly wouldnt hurt to try and fix it. I'll look into it this week... if I can get it fixed decently I'll just do the pipe and worry about the fairing later. I need time more than anything...

1. shape, like you said 2. sound, very little difference, but the TRS will be a bit deeper of a rumble. I say do the pipe yourself. And if it takes an hour and a half, he's on crack. I did mine myself in about 45 min, and that with searching for tools and the sawzall. The stock pipe will not be worth anything, as you have to cut it off, so you really can't put it back on again. |
