You know, the more I think about buying a bike, the more I'm considering a GS, especially since I'm hoping to ride the bike on field calls. Most of my field calls keep me on pavement, but I sometimes get addresses that are in the sticks, down a dirt road, or at least require me to take a badly paved road to get to the house. I generally don't know if the roads are going to be dirt, paved, or what, and it would suck to get out on a nasty road on a cruiser. Maybe I'll have to find a way to demo a GS, even though there won't be any demo rides near me.

Many Euro dealers are very open to the idea of letting you demo their motorcycles. In fact, many of them have bikes they use specifically for demo purposes. Find a dealer, go talk to them. Of course, if you find a truck, there is every flavor of GS on them from the 650single to the 1200Adventure that is fitted to take you across Africa.
