If by work you mean "I have to spend more time riding all the twisty, clean beautiful roads available to me right out my back door": then ya, my heart bleeds for all the "work" you've got cut out for you. Kim, I meant what I said. You have good skills, but more importantly, you have good judgement. You rode your own ride, and didn't let the presence of a bunch of hot shots intimidate you into riding yourself into the woods, although I know your little voice in the back of your head was whispering to you to "go faster...try to keep up, you can do it!" That little voice has put more riders on the ground and into the tooli bushes than all the blind, stupid cagers put together. Riding is 99% in the head. The requisite motor skills come in about the first 1000 miles or so. The flowing, effortless and easy, safe speed comes as a result of remembering to do the basics...relax your arms, breath, pick a line, keep your head up, level with the horizon and looking through the turn. Brake before the turn entrance and remember to accelerate gently as you pass the apex of the turn. Seat time and practice are the key. Breath, keep your upper body relaxed, elbows slightly bent and smile. This is supposed to be FUN, remember? The group you rode with today share a couple things in common: A. They are all good, safe riders. B. There isn't much more they enjoy more than riding... C....except helping another rider enjoy it more. You did a great job, you were a lot of fun, and you were an asset to the ride. Thanks for being there. ...and Marko, it was nice to see your sorry ass, too. PS....For those of you sods that bash Buells but have never ridden a modern one; you don't know what your missing. I got a chance to log some miles on Marko's and I've decided I WANT ONE. What a GREAT bike!!!!!! |

Looked like a nice get together. Cool when a group can get together...hang out...have fun and enjoy a nice ride with no issues.
