The car may not be in her name or the insurance company hasn't checked her driving record since she has been suspended. I think that it varies from state to state. Unlike all the perfect people here, I've had a suspended license and I never had problems getting insurance in Mi.

Not in NC.

Yes I've had my license suspended but that was when I was young and dumb so I went to Japan for a year and got a license. When I came back...my suspension was over so I got a new license.

That was over 20 years ago...now I'm a mature...responsible individual...ok I'm older.

I know this situation all too well. Some drunk driver decided to run though my car at 50mph when I was stopped at a red light. I never saw a dime from the fucker. I do know that he did jail time though.

So, you can get insured while having a suspended license?

If her license is suspended, but she has insurance I really don't care. It's the having insurance that I am concerned with.

This guy wasn't drunk, thank god. Just a doofus who didn't see that traffic was slowing down and was following way too damn close. Thus the collision.

It's possible depending on the state. Most likely she has the car insurance in a another person's name. You can't get plates without insurance...

If she gets in an accident with a suspended license, her insurance will not cover a single penny for property damage or personal injury.

Guess the only option is to fuck this broad up. Teach her a lesson.
