I've been looking at laptops too...netbooks are too small, I thought I wanted a 17" but they are just too damn big.

I have a 15.4 and its just perfect... big enough to be big but small enough to carry... not that I do that much.

My home lappy is a 17 and my work lappy is a 15.4. There really isn't much difference in the viewing area but the 17 is soo much more heavy and bulky.

For traveling the 15.4 is perfect. My next home lappy will be a 15.4.
