Actually Samsung has had quite a few good camera phones over the years. Much better than the cheap fixed-focus crap on Razr's and such.

They apparently didn't get on the ball with this one.

The key is to be the innovator and to think 10 steps ahead of the game. Not a lot of companies can do that. You are going to have followers. Samsung clearly didn't put that much effort into their camera as they did into their screen.

It also depends on access to hardware. If a company can get a certain camera at a good price, they may go for that camera over the best in the business.
Samsung is a vertical integration company. At least they used to be anyway

And the institutionalized arrogance at Apple just keeps on coming....

Want to claim the free bumper required to fix a problem (that doesn't exist according to Steve Jobs) with your shiny new iPhone? Well, you'd better go get an app for that (I particularly enjoyed the "might be best to do the downloading while the phone is not in your hand" jab....and be satisfied with whatever bumper Steve Jobs and Apple choose for you as you aren't getting a choice.

Steve Jobs and Apple cannot demonstrate their contempt for their customers and utter disregard for their customers intelligence any more clearly than this. And people STILL stand in line to buy stuff from this prick...it's truly baffling to me.

oh yea? Well since Samsung provides a very high percentage of the screens and a great deal of the cameras that are put into phones... I just find it irritating that's all. I really wanted that phone! Have you seen it?

The screen is pretty. I am not sure about the rest of the phone yet. I want that screen with the new snapdragon with more memory in a HTC.

I have been happier with my HTC than any phone in recent memory. I am not ready to give it up.

Have you ever heard of a little show called "Jon and Kate plus 8"...?

My last phone was a Samsung Memoir with a 8 meg camera and a huge flash. When I was with Helio all of the Samsung phone were top of the line/best out by far... In this case, I just don't know why you would put out a phone with all of these outstanding features and leave that out...

I'm just saying, if they built every part of the thing then there's no excuse
