Sorry you got hurt Rae. Truthfully, you're lucky that the bones broke in your ankle, it'll heal faster. My bones stayed intact and the ligaments and tendons all tore, I'm still not right and this was April. Sorry you fell, I hope you heal up and your stuff works out. Poor Razor, no booty for a while.

Wow, its amazing how much damage your fall did. At least nothing is permanent. Heal up and good luck with the test.

Heal up soon Rae girl. It is better to break it than tear and dislocate tendons and ligaments, dont ask me how I know. Seems its always the seemingly innocent fun that bites us.
I used to barrel race too. Or at least run the barrels on my Honda 110 as a young un...3 wheelers are another thing that'll kill you, but I digress. Heal up quick and get back on something safe, like a sportbike!

Update:
After forever at the ortho yesterday, I appear to be on the mend pretty well already. Doc says I can consider it like a reaaaaally bad sprain. Refused to let them cast it, or put a walking boot on it, so they gave me a sport boot to use with my crutches. Doc says I can't really do any worse damage to it, from here it just has to reattach to the main bone, he thinks it wont be a problem, and I'm even allowed to put a lil weight on it as I feel I can. Docs says I might be able to walk and even ride in 3-4 weeks. Back at work today, lil uncomfortable, its def swelling, (looks really gross) but I've got it as up as I can. Buddy who had ankle surgery recently highly recommends elevating and icing for short periods, said the swelling will really come down and speed the healing process. If I can get it healed up well enough to ride, I should be able to make it through my certification process in February! Keep your fingers crossed for me. My teaching mentor is going to bend some rules for me, like get me a chair in instruct from, etc to help me out as well. I'm excited, I was really down for awhile. Also, if worst comes to worst, the program will allow you an exception and let you video your riding at a later date if you fail the riding test, I've got a call in to see if I can qualify with my injury for that too. |

Be patient with it at first. The more you can avoid stressing it up front seems the quicker you'll get healing going. Take a multi vit, lotsa C and D, Keep circulation goind as best you can, maybe Razor can help out with that. And heal up soon!! cheers.
