with all this talk of delaying the firing of the ballast for the hid's, has anyone wired it thru the kickstand switch? dont need to remember to hit the switch to turn your lights on, its already there as opposed to adding an additional switch...start the bike, and when u put the kickstand up the lights come on. sounds simple. do-able? did i overlook something?

just bought set, thx for linky

Which is

As described here

I want a hint of blue. I think it makes your headlight stick out in the crowd a bit more (day or night) which increases me being seen as well. So the 8k would be more blue... but by going to a 55w the color should wash out and get more white. That's the idea. Is my logic that I worked out with brian flawed?
ahh ok... looks like you thought it through... it's all good... just wondering the reasoning.

interesting idea... though my kickstand switch is disabled as it can cause the motor to cut out when you go over fast bumpy terrain.

instead I found a headlight switch for another bike that will plug right into a harness I already have that will shut off the lights... PIMP

1 - H4 hi/lo 55W 8k color ddm
1 - dual 880 35W 6k color ddm

That is 3 HIDs on the front of my beast. Should look like the sun driving down the road.
As a frame of reference, my HID is 8k. It's blue, damn near purple.

That fucking bike is gonna look like day light coming down the road.

Honestly, if and when the bulb goes I'll probly buy something a little closer to 6k. But, you've seen it. It's plenty bright and has good color.

.
i heard-that when puttin em in a projector style headlight like the buells, u get a true color, as in your 8000k is supposed to look like that. but if you put the same 8000k bulb in a reflector style housing, the appearance in color becomes more like a 6000k. dont know why, but thats what i heard. it wasnt on ddm's site, but whatever site it was on also had what ddm was saying about how at 55w, some color gets washed out, etc etc basically exactly what gman said.

i wonder if i could put buells projectors in my headlight housing

I'm going to call them in abt 30min when they open and double check with Ebbs guy Paul.

I want some color but don't want it to look crazy. My main goal is optinum light with some color to increase daytime visiabilty.
