It has a roots type blower and an air to liquid intercooler. Mounting the intercooler up front would accomplish nothing and create some downsides.

ETA: With the F40 you see 2 square intercoolers and some intake runners and that is about it.

Here is a capture of the Road and Track issue I mentioned before testing (I believe) his McLaren F1 sporting the Jesus fish and Texas plates.
