With the kitchen/den area being above the garage...it is pretty loud with my current chain driven doors. |

they are there for fucking fires and emergencies. not because you are too stupid to call a locksmith. i cherish what downtime i have at the squad because at any minute i could be out for an entire shift and if some pompous ass acted like his non emergency was my civic duty and expected it was free. i'd give him a locksmith's number and go right back to the station

glad not all firefighters/EMTs are like you. dunno about pompous we were very cordial and appreciative of them coming out. sounds like you need more stations or people. how soon should we expect a bill? and why would they come and advertise the door opening service? vs not telling anyone?

the same reason the police advertise lockout services for cars. and i'm really glad all civillians aren't like you or my job would be a whole lot worse, it's fine dealing with people who needs us or can;t halp themselves. but helping people too cheap to pay; that would be a dealbreaker for me
i'm not sure how long it will take for you to get a bill. chances are they wrote out a dispatch report and at the end of the month they'll review for QA purposes and then send out a bill. and i'm sure when you receive the bill you'll call and argue and say how your taxes pay their salaries and completely forget that emergency services are one of the most under appreciated services when it comes to township funding.

I have my keys on me any time I have pants on, which I put on immediately after my shower. I don't take a shower, I don't go outside. Of course, my doors lock from the outside too.

And usually that's 2 sets of keys. House/work keys, and vehicle key(s). That way I don't have to carry key's for all the vehicles around with me. |
