You know what though? No they are not a normal family. But, they are not living on public funds... they are intelligent and raised well. With so many having children as teens - or on public aide, why slam a family for actually RAISING a family??

Sidenote: My mother had 18 siblings [3 more didn't make it past the age of 2] and my father has 13 siblings.

I agree. I'm usually very anti-reproduction, but like Zoomy said, they're self sufficient. They even built their own house, so I can't fault them.

I have no idea how they manage to raise that many kids, but it seems they're pulling it off better than a lot of parents handle 1 kid.

I just don't see how they can effectively raise their children without sacraficing the other kids childhoods to do the raising for them, which is how they do it. I just think that it is selfish to do that to the other children. Plus the kids are slightly off. The little I did see of the show is that almost all the kids have some kind of mental disorder.

I'm gonna have to tune in once to check it out, I haven't seen the show.

On a similar note, a mentally handicapped kid struck up an alluring conversation about the Dallas Cowboys today while I was in Albertsons since I had a blue shirt on. He was a stock boy there I think. He kept following me around the store and showing me different magazines with Cowboys in it. It was hilarious.

Hey, good for them if they're actually giving them all a quality upbringing.
My roommate's brother & sister-in-law have quite a little brood, themselves, but every one of them knows to say Yes sir, no sir, please and thank you.
Still, regardless of upbringing, I've never understood the drive to make that many little people.
