Check out Tiger Direct. They have packages that you can buy that include the cameras, DVR etc. We're doing it at my mom's house since she lives alone, and we've had event where someone has deliberately loosened the motion flood lights on the back side of the house.

http://www.amazon.com/Foscam-FI8905W...2921063&sr=8-4 I also got this sharx which is POE so all i needed to do was run a cat5 cable. Wider lens, good for closer shots, you can select what part of the screen you want motion detected. Each email me images based on my settings of what's setting off the motion detection. Also has 2 way speaker system. http://www.amazon.com/Sharx-Security...2921144&sr=1-4 The sharx has MUCH better quality... setup was a snap on both of them. I use IP cam viewer light for android (you can get pro if you want to be able to tilt/pan, or use the 2 way speaker system.

Id rather use a pc cam since they can display 1080p now. Those cams in the security kits are usually low res. You have to spend a good amount to get good qualtiy security.
I got a $130 pc cam that has movement control for $14 at a pawn shop. Haha. Suckers. It does 720p and has real good low light quality. I should be able to use it with my laptop and then use windows remote to get into the laptop from any windows pc. I havent even check on smartphone apps yet. Its the creative cam you see at the beginning of Tropic Thunder during the conference meeting. DIET COKE! |
