LCD v.s. Plasma
I'm looking into getting a 40" - 46" TV. I'm leaning toward an LCD and 1080P. Any experts here or even non experts that own any of these that care to share your opinions on this ?
Suggestions on brands and any ratings/features ? Thanks !! |

Plasma is a dying technology. 40-46 range would definitely rule them out, you need 50+ for plasma. Check out LED TVs too. The Samsungs are nice.
Sony or Samsung for LCD. Samsung for LED.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001VKY7WU/...rtreview503-20 Another thing that interests me is the "new" internet capabilities of some of these tvs which allow you to watch Hulu, YouTube, and pretty much any internet streaming video (YouPorn) from your tv without a computer. Of course you can just hook your computer up to your tv like I do. Note: if you want to do this make sure the tv has a VGA input for the best picture. That is one mistake I did make on my livingroom tv so I have to watch computer based television through S-Video. On my bedroom tv I have VGA and it's basically a computer monitor. Very sharp picture! I hope this helps. Btw do yourself a favor and get the best and largest you can afford, don't get too cheap! Oh and a LCD tv is like a diamond, if it's a choice between bigger with crappy specs and smaller with better specs, do the smaller. Pixelation, bluring and "red washout" or color overload sucks!!! |

They have 240Hz tVs out now...
Im looking at a 58 Inch Plasma... But I think in the 40 - 46 range LCD is the definite better buy.

Bottom line is this.
Plasma and their glass front gives you major glare and it SUCKS. LCD does not for most. I have a nice Sony Bravia 52", got it Magnolia Room. LOVE IT! |

If you got the money to spend on any type of TV, get a Samsung LED 240Hz. No comparison right now. The one with the built in wireless connection for your comp would be money.
