Default Aching back?

There are plenty of old farts round these parts. What do you guys do for it? Some friends have suggested soaking in a hot bath with epsom salt. Any of you have some secret recipe/old world cures you want to share?

I think what he's saying is do the exercises before you get on the bike to help avoid sore muscles, not to build more muscle.

but yes, hot water DOES help with sore muscles.

Are you doing back at the gym? Do you take a week off every 4-12 weeks (depends on training routine)?

Maybe you are overtraining them....which portion hurts? It is a muscle soreness hurt (which sounds like what you've said) or on the spine pain?

Alot of issues arise when other muscles around the one that hurts are under developed. So...for instance for back, you may be doing the usual shit like pulldowns, bb rows, db rows etc..but never do good mornings or deadlifts which would be missing out on core/abs muscles.

You could also use some deep issue massaging or your joints fixed via a Chiropractor.

Heat
Advil
Stretching

If that doesn't work, large amounts of alcohol

If it's really bad, see if your doc will give you a presciption for Flexeril (sp? I'm not gonna check) It's not a real strong muscle relaxer but works really well on my lower back if I'm so bad I can barely move. I can also take 1 and function during the day if I need to.

Its actually on the left side of my lower-middle back. Its always tight and tender. As in, flinch when my girlfriend masages it tender.

Its strange, the pain has stayed consistent. The tightness is getting worse.
