Default Chevy Traverse

Anyone have any personal experience with the Enclave/Arcadia/Outlook/Traverse lineup from GM?

We are specifically looking at the Traverse. Local dealer has a few that fit our price point and we really liked them.

I've read quite a bit about them (both negative and positive) but I was wondering if anyone here specifically had one and what their opinions are.

I'm well aware of the pros/cons of minivan vs cross over.

Anyone have personal experience with them?

My sister-in-law just bought one and so far she loves it (they replaced their Chevy Venture minivan with the Traverse). She has 3 kids and they bring all their hockey stuff from place-to-place with no issues. It's a nice looking and rides really nice.

I had one as a rental once and I drove from Jacksonville, FL to Atlanta, GA on one tank of gas (though it was close ).

I've read reviews where people say they get 25-26 mpg highway and I've also read the oposite. Usually when someone complained about the mpg they didn't give any figures, they just said it was worse than they expected.

The Traverse has had 3 recalls already. Parking break and one other minor thing. Transmission recal makes me nervous but lots of people have praised the 6 speed.

these days almost every car/car company has some recall or another going on.

I have an Acadia. It's a great, comfortable car. Mine has been very reliable despite the unreliable rating CR gives it. Average gas mileage is on the 15-16mpg range. That's 90% city driving. The lease is ending on mine soon and I am turning it back in. I have the 2wd model and it isn't that great in the snow. I have 19 wheels with touring tires so that might be why.

That's a cheap one. Sticker on mine was $38K and that was the 2wd version and no sunroof.

I worked for Saturn when they came out with the Outlook. They were really nice, closest thing to a useable 3rd row seat I'd seen in a crossover yet. Ok mileage, around 18 when I was driving it. Comfortable, good get up, handled well, couldn't figure out what was 4k better about the Acadia that would sway people? Loaded identically, the only differences were the grill and other badging.

Not the ones I looked at. Comparably equipped they were very close in price, within $500.

My BIL has the Enclave.

Beautiful car, large enough that 6 adults fit for a 4 hour road trip.

They have had it about a year now and haven't had a single issue.
