Default Guess where this Big UGLY Mother came from.

Don't think I need to say much.

Craziest part is, it's still holding air. I need a good tire gauge (and a wash, chain lube, and adjustment) before I ride it again, but I think the belts deflected the nail without letting it actually puncture. I couldn't get the licorice stick repair down through the path of the nail, but there's no hissing. I still plan to get new tires as soon as I can afford to, and before any long/fast rides. But at least I don't have to go out and buy cheap shit tires RIGHT NOW.

Oh no not this debate again... OMG what is the worst case scenario here? He'll get a flat. That's it, there will be no sudden tire failures or what not. He is right, the belts obviously deflected the nail and it never pierced anything but the tread that gets worn off anyway. See if you can get some rubber cement in there just for the heck of it and ride on.

It's only through the rubber. Those angles don't show it, but where it came out the side is the same depth as the tread grooves. It did not penetrate any of the belts. I wouldn't do a long trip on it, or ride interstate, but I think it will be okay riding six miles at less than 55mph. Until I get a good tire gauge to track the pressure, I'm driving the truck to work. I should be able to get new tires with my next paycheck.

So where's a good place to get tires in Philly?
I know there was a great internet deal on Pirelli Angels, but I don't want to save $50 by buying online only to spend $100 to have them mounted.
