Our old modem just died, so we replaced it with a modem with built in wireless router.
seems to work well.

I was looking on new egg for a new router... they list my router.. and list it as good.

I use the D-link N-Gaming router. Great speed and easy user interface. also if you are not all that smart on the techy side of thinks the way Tally is, then get net-magic from Purenetworks -->http://www.purenetworks.com/

I typically buy Linksys stuff. It's fairly inexpensive and widely used. You can even get custom firmwares and whatnot.

I solved my range issues by putting an access point on every level of my house (2-story w/basement). The hardware is cheap enough, might as well have plenty of coverage.
