If it's the one that comes with all XD's it's not really a speed loader, just an assist really. Fits around the mag and pushed down the rounds in the mag to make it easier to put the next one in. Far better than doing it all by hand, but defiantly not a "speed loader in the sense I am used to.

Love my Taurus PT1911 and would recommend it as a first gun. Its your basic automatic, and if you can't operate a 1911 you probably shouldn't own a firearm, One good thing about Taurus is their all encompassing warranty policy. You send them a broken gun, they send back a fixed gun. So when the safety fell off my $650 1911 after around 1,200 rounds I sent it back, no problem.

When my Dad's $1,100 Kimber broken they told him to go pound sand.

Very nice! I am sure you will like this gun very well.

I've heard this too, split to where you love them or hate them.

Sweet, that is definitely a thumb saver. By the time you get to 12-13 rounds it becomes a pain in the ass.

Both my Springfield (1911) and Smith & Wesson (Sigma) had the tang on the extractor that hooks on the shell casing break off. I don't load a round in the chamber and release the slide or anything so I'm not sure why it happened. Regardless, both companies were great about it. Each one sent me a prepaid overnight label for shipping the gun back (Springfield e-mailed it, Smith snail-mailed it). Each was fixed in about a week. Each was shipped back to me overnight, and all at no charge. Hell, Smith even tossed in a new magazine when they returned it.

I can't say enough about the customer service I received from each company, especially since neither gun was terribly expensive. Smith probably spent more in shipping than they made off my purchase. Both guns supposedly have lifetime warranties so I will see if this excellent treatment continues.
