As for trade, I was going to trade it in on a dirtbike. I had bike fever because my buddy bought an 09 Yamaha 450. He offered me this for my bike plus 700 bucks. Leftover 09 for basically $7400. That's $2000 under msrp.

Don't get me wrong. I know this thing will not appreciate in value. And I know it'll likely take somebody who really wants what I'm offering to pay near what I'm asking. I'm just hoping it happens before I'm eager to sell...
I would have a hard time turning that down. I have dirt bike envy right now!

You can get an 09 KX450F for $6500 OTD all day long. Less if you deal. Kawasaki is offering $1000 off MSRP to get rid of them. (MSRP was $7650 I think)

Remember, he is in Canada.

MSRP up there is over $9k.

Looking at the numbers, it sounds like a reasonable deal.

I still wouldn't do it.

Dirtbikes are great fun but they can be had so cheap after a year or two that I can't see buying new unless I had money oozing from my pores.

I plan on buying a used one next this fall or next summer. I have this sitting in my basement, which makes me crazy that it's not mine every time I walk down there..

It's my buddy's. It's brand new. And I'm sure I'll get to ride it plenty. When it's not icy/snowy/stupidly cold.

He lives in an apartment and has no storage. So, she's going to live in my basement till spring.

As a storage fee I would ride it. Right now.

That is how I am. I live in an apartment so I keep the bike over in a friends garage. He has been known to randomly show up to things riding it. With permission, of course.
