fuck it, if you are going to go point/shoot, I would just wait for a great deal on woot.com for one.

I am sort of thinking back towards a point and shoot. I can't see myself enjoying the hassle of carrying my new expensive SLR around although I do think I could really grow to enjoy using it.

Think it would be more resourceful to have a point and shoot laying around at all times.

the nice thing about a good point and shoot is it's easy to use... and you can jump off your bike grab it and take the pic... throw it back in the bag/under the seat and go...

Canon FTW.

(sorry, am a Canon fanboy).

Anyways, I have a Sony (okay, well it's really hers buttttt) and a Canon point and shoot. Both turn out quality photos... most point n shoot now-a-days are pretty similar between the brands. Pick something you like, and go with that......

N00b to camera business? I'd say go w/ the Sony P&S.... pretty intuitive and have Carl Zeiss glass on 'em....

Hey I know we've been beating this subject to death but,has anyone seen a mid camera. You know point and shoot but with a larger lenses like a slr that let's you zoom at the lens like a slr. I hate hunting for those little buttons on my camera.

I wouldn't waste your money on a mid camera, either spend the time learning to work a SLR (get magic lantern guides) or go with a cheap point/shoot. The MLGs are great at teaching you stuff and have quick find sheets for finding all your buttons.
