For home use, I swore by Linksys for the longest time, but these days, so many of the basic models from the different manufacturers have the same features and specs.... The one I bought for my mother-in-law is some brand I'd not even heard of and it was $25 shipped from NewEgg. Works like a freaking champ and it's not had a problem yet. Whatever model you consider, just do a search for reviews from Amazon, NewEgg, etc. And when it comes to negative reviews on wi-fi stuff, take a close look and take with a grain of salt - many of them are disgruntled morons that are too stupid to read the directions and get pissed off when they can't figure out how to get it to work. Those are typically easy to single out, though.

I agree. Bad reviews are usually 95% user error.

I have this one and have a external harddrive attached to it so I can provide my library of movies and media streaming throughout my house.
We did this when I was in Iraq, the dude who set it up had 4 TB of movies/TV shows and 1 TB of music. Streaming movies and TV shows throughout the compound was awesome.

Anyways, I have a netgear router/modem. I like it

Our old modem just died, so we replaced it with a modem with built in wireless router.
seems to work well.

I use the D-link N-Gaming router. Great speed and easy user interface. also if you are not all that smart on the techy side of thinks the way Tally is, then get net-magic from Purenetworks -->http://www.purenetworks.com/
