I didn't bother to check. Just told them I had a hole in my pilot road 2 and that I wanted a plug/patch.

Your being ridiculous, Its a hole less than have the diamater of a pen, if that. Do you really think it has an effect??

Do you always change the front and rear together too? Because I'll take some spare fronts.

I wouldn't worry about grip. The hole for the plug would be to small to cause any problems.

I was lucky, I never had to patch any of my tires on my R6. I know guys that had flats in 5 day old tires. That would piss me off.

not a fan of tire plugs/patches on bikes at all. truck maybe but not the bike.

I had plugs in car tires. I installed on in my step fathers car and that thing lasted the life of the tire. That was plug only. As long as its not in the sidewall I wouldn't have a problem with one in a car/truck at all.

I USED to be totally against plugging...patching...whatever when it came to motorcycle tires. Through the years though I've known a few people that gave it a shot and NONE of them ever had any issue IF DONE RIGHT.

With the plug/patch combo...I've changed my mind and would do that and actually did on one tire and had zero issues with leakage or anything.

I was kidding Chrissy!!! I've fought this fight 20 times at least. I've been patching tires since I was a kid without ever have an issue. Hell, I once got a tire slashed and put 4 plugs in the sidewall and did parade laps and burnouts all weekend until the tire place opened on Mon and I could get it replaced. I burned the tire in the parking lot until it blew apart and the plugs still stayed in place! True story! I have never personally heard or seen a catastrophic failure from a plug, patch or plug-patch. Even so I'm slightly leary of just plugs and will use them as a temporary measure until I can patch it or plug-patch it. If you saw the numbers on a plug patch and what they can withstand, force/temp wise, I think that everyone would agree that any fear is unwarranted.
