Brake checking someone is also generally illegal. Just sayin'.
What the cop did looked like a preemptive use of authoritative bluster, to cut a report off at the pass. He was obviously in the wrong and knew it, and so wanted to try and pass guilt on the 'victim.' There's a reason why I run both front AND rear cameras.

Brake check, or sudden "critter" in the road? You can't prove it, since you were following too close.
