ya, I do know guys paying a lot less, but they are in their 50's for the most part. Two friends got letters the same as mine. both mi thirties with perfect records too. Not as big of increases, but both almost doubled.

The even stranger thing is MC theft is almost non existent around here, and there arent that many accidents claimed within 100 miles throughout a year.

The good thing for me is theft protection is only $1 a month and they dropped $60 off my total year on my car. With the clean record I have, I still think I'm paying too much. When I call around I just get the "you're not 25 yet BS."

I know for a fact Statefarm does. They want a spotless record for three years though. Once Tracy's Speeding ticket disappears I will be making the switch. There are many people my age or younger and with higher risk bikes that pay less for full coverage than I do for Liability. Usually less than $1k, sometimes less than $500.

Don't you guys shop for insurance before going out and buying a bike? I would never pay 2000 for insurance on a bike, nor a car.

I had my 07 Honda 600rr for 3 years (this May) and I paid about a 100 bucks a year for liability (highest limits). My 09 Kawi is 130 a year and my 06 EX500 is 80. There is no way I'm giving insurance companies thousands of dollars a year.

Nope. Just took the first quote that was offered..

Of course I did, and obviously 2000 was an acceptable amount or I wouldn't have bought the bike.

Canada's insurance is very different. Aside from the massive population difference (35 million compared to 308 million) insurance is just different up here. $1000 is totally respectable!!!

Try TD Meloche. If you're apart of a group (maybe your union, for me it's university grad) they offer discounts.
