Didn't think you were kicking me. I'm still waiting on my unemployment. I got all the paperwork in and even the handy dandy credit card they put it on. But they tell me it's so backed up (typical La) that it can take up to 8 weeks to get the first check....four weeks to get a notice in the mail confirming I'm approved. I applied a couple of weeks ago. Blah. On a more positive note, my ex employer kept her word. I received a check for two weeks pay as a severance check. I knew I was owed for my vacation pay of one week. Bonus for the second week. Every little bit helps.

they are doing it electronically, how the hell can it take any longer? that don't make any sense. I may have to start deciding if I'm going to pay the biggest bill I have soon. |

I don't know why it's taking them longer. I have called a few times about it and they told me since there's been triple the amount of claims in the last few months it's taking longer. A friend's took 6 weeks. Of course, they're probably giving a generalized statement on how long it's taking. That's what I'm hoping for and it'll come in sooner than expected. Or I'm going to be SOL soon if something doesn't come through quickly.

Driving in the snow is great fun BUT, all roads were closed, no travel advised.
There was an average of 3.5 feet of snow in my driveway, hardpacked by the wind. -20 degrees, with -45 windchill Not my idea of fun... today would have been a great day to go play however. High of 0, but sunny and somewhat calm. All roads were open by 2:30pm and life was somewhat back to normal. One funny story. Some guy decided yesterday evening that he needed milk. All roads had been closed for hours. He takes off anyway, to a town about 30 miles away, and of course gets stranded. It takes 2 State plow trucks and a road grader to get to him, along with a couple state troopers for the rescue. In the end, he gets fined $1000 PLUS has to pay the wages and expense of all the equipment used to rescue him... and he never did get his milk! what a dumbass. |

Here are a few pics of my driveway this morning. Took about an hour and a half with a 10 horse 30" cut snowblower to clear it.
Pic from the corner of my garage looking to driveway. Standing in front of Garage, looking toward street Standing in street, looking at garage right after the city plow went through. After it's all cleaned out. Lots of fucking snow. |

1. a Versatile bi-directional tractor with a snowblower and a blade 2. an old beat up chevy pickup with a plow on the front. THey had only made one pass with just the plow when I cleared my driveway. I actually do more street cleaning with my snowblower than they do. |

Now I don't feel quite so bad about the cold front that just moved through here. Yesterday it was in the mid 80's and today's high was 51! Tomorrow promises to be even cooler.

new tires....
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm........... the fact that they are new, dif brand than previous, alil more performance orientated than touring, and i went to a 180/55 from the 190/50 that was on there (5.5inch rim) makes for a new way sweeter handling bike. me likes however-the fact that it made such a dif lets me know i waited longer than i shouldve to put new rubber on-oops
