I'm a GenMe. I don't necessarily want more of both money and vacay time.. I just want more bang for my buck, so to speak. My current view is that I don't want to walk into a job that seems like prison. If I have to do a lot I expect a lot in return. However, what I really want is balance. I don't want to work 9-5 and drop dead the second I walk in the house like my dad does. Granted, he now has the option to work 4 long does over 5 regular days.

Overall, I want to have the time say "I'm bored." Too many people out there view that as a bad work ethic.. well, it's not. If you want to bury yourself in your work go ahead, but I'd rather struggle to fill free time then struggle to find time.

But then again, I'm young. What the hell do I know? haha.

Hell no, I'd quit my job if I ever uttered the words "I'm bored"

Yeah, slow days suck. I like for the day to go by fast, but don't want to be so swamped that I feel like I still have shit left over to do. I like to be able to get everything done I need to on a particular day, without much "dead time"

I work 35 hours a week.
I get 3 weeks vacation to start, 10 sick days and 4 personal days. I get paid stupid amounts of money, and like Apoc said, it is never enough.

One guy I work with has 7 weeks holidays and he always carries them over.

I'm pretty close to that. Three weeks vacation to start, with a bump to 4 at 8 years and 6 at 15 years. The week between Christmas and New Years off. They cracked down on "family obligation" days because they were being badly abused by a very small number of people (effectively unlimited).

As many sick days as I need, but I may be asked to support that need with documentation. I can go off for short term disability, for 66 days at full pay, come back for one, then go off for another 66 if it's a different reason. Otherwise it becomes LTD (80% pay).

I've currently got something like 36 vacation days banked and build them at a rate of 1.66 per month. I'm allowed to bank up to 40, before I start to lose them. It's tough to take them all. Sometimes I'll take a week off and just kick around the house.

9-5 Job
20 days vacation
9-10 holidays
10 days sick

I'm old school. I believe that taking sick days reflects poorly on you and I don't think of sick days as something "That I need to take before the end of the year"

Some places let you use sick days as vacation days. Used to do it at ups but I was also liked by management and they fiured if they had a heads up on I wasnt going to be in it was better than the last minute call

Same here. The only sick days I've taken from work was the day after my 21st birthday (but they knew that was coming ) plus I was new and didn't have vacation time) and after hernia surgery.

However, since my current employer has decided to close the site this year, my sick time policy has become more liberal.

In my past jobs I have probably called out sick one time per year, and that was time off without pay because my past jobs were pretty crappy and we didnt get sick days. With my current job I will absolutely use my sick time as part of my vacation time. Its only a benefit if you take advantage of it, besides, in most cases nobody knows what type of hours you used for your time off anyway.
