No, this did:

My opinion of them hasn't changed... I still think it was most likely something I fucked up putting it back together than anything... However, it was everything I ever liked about motorcycles in one package.

Honestly I was hooked from the sound go.

I was 8yrs old on my Uncle's 1984 honda shadow V 700

Taken at a KOA camp ground in Monroe, MI

I remembered holding on for dear life, the roaring sound of the motor, the vibration, the wind. Thinking WOW, we must be going a million miles an hour!!!

It wasn't till later after I was 18 that I was able to look at my own. Then much like the other people here... the F4i was my dream bike. But I got my used 97 EX500. Same uncle went and looked at it and test rode it for me. Then showed me how to ride it in a parking lot.

Edited to add: I first noticed bikes around 1985 when Honda was advertising the Interceptor and Suzuki was doing the same with the GSX-R, but at that point I just thought they looked cool. I took notice again around 90 or 91 when one of the bike mags put out an article with tuner bikes. If I remember there was a turbo Hurricane, a turbo ZX-11, and a few other bikes. Again if I remember correctly they were running around 190+ top speeds and it really caught my attention. All that stuff was nibbles though. Seeing, and more importantly hearing, a Ducati 851 with an exhaust on it really set the hook. That was almost 20 years ago and I can still recall the "What the fuck is that thing!" feeling.
Which interceptor? The 500, 700, or 1000?

For me it was the card board cut out of the rc51 when I worked @ honda of troy and was currently racing quads in harescrambles and had never really seen a bike that looked so fast

My experience is similar. I grew up watching chinese tv that had girls riding motorcycles and I knew as soon as I was able I would be riding. My cousin's boyfriend took me riding on the back of his GSXR1000 when I was 14 and since then I always loved the GSXR's, any size, I just loved the blue and white paint scheme.

Not exactly sure how it happened, but I started liking the naked bikes. First one I really drooled over was the BMW Dakar. I saw a Z1000 at the dealership and also drooled over that. After I got licensed, I saw a 2nd gen SVS and fell in love with it. The SV650S became my 2nd bike and the SV650 naked became my 4th.

It was probably the 500 but it was 25 years ago and my memory isn't quite that good.

When I was 12 (around 1996) my neighbor got a CBR600 F2 that was like this one.

(best pick of it I could find)
I fell in love with street bikes while everyone at my school wanted dirtbikes or ATVs. I lost interest about highschool but regained interest around 21 or so.

Funny part is I may have looked at my bike when I was 12 while walking the Honda dealerships lusting after them.
