One day at Best Buy I played with a Samsung phone for a few minutes to see what it would be like on something with some power. That phone was fast but there was something about that OS that didn't sit well with me.

True, 2.3 is a phone OS.... But for $80 and adding a $15 8g card....

z here, we decided we aren't buying another ipad until it goes 4g. Our 4g droids smoke the ipad when we are using the data services (which we use a lot) Thank Goodness for the old-skool unlimited plan that they will NEVER get me to give up. haha

Would the unlimited data plans stick on a 4G tablet? If they do, I'd be very interested in getting a 4G tablet.

Hey, question, even though they call it an unlimited plan, don't they choke the speed after a certain point?

I'm not sure how it is between all the carriers. The only one I know of that does it for sure is AT&T. They throttle if you're in the top x% of data users, but that number seems to vary. I haven't noticed in on Verizon yet, but I haven't been using much data lately. They could easily be doing the same thing after a certain data amount is passed.

It's just the swapping of the sim card, right? I don't know, but if I can't stay unlimited then I'll just stick to the iPad I have and run it til the wheels fall off so to speak.

If you have an unlimited tablet plan, you keep it. If you only have a phone plan, you don't get unlimited if you add on a tablet.

Ours is just a tablet unlimited plan. We use sprint for cell phones.
