Default Beef brisket recipes, post it up...2 hr deadline!

Want to start cooking this massive brisket and have it done for when my lady gets home around 5 or so. Post up your favorite recipe, brisket methods for a 4-5 hour cook time. This is the first time I've actually done a brisket. I've got a ton of BBQ sauce left over so that may come in handy.

Brisket is 8lbs and will prob have to be trimmed. Oven cooking methods only!

12 beers.

Directions:

Give brisket to wife. Drink beer for 4-5 hours. Eat.

Here you go:


Ingredients

* 2 tablespoons chili powder
* 2 tablespoons salt
* 1 tablespoon garlic powder
* 1 tablespoon onion powder
* 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* 2 teaspoons dry mustard
* 1 bay leaf, crushed
* I nice beef brisket, slightly trimmed
* 1 1/2 cups beef stock

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Make a dry rub by combining chili powder, salt, garlic and onion powders, black pepper, sugar, dry mustard, and bay leaf. Season the raw brisket on both sides with the rub. Place in a roasting pan and roast, uncovered, for 1 hour.

Add beef stock and enough water to yield about 1/2 inch of liquid in the roasting pan. Lower oven to 300 degrees F, cover pan tightly and continue cooking for 3 hours, or until fork-tender.

Trim the fat and slice meat thinly across the grain. Top with juice from the pan.

Shiiiiit....I got fired last month....what do you think I'm doing at home in the middle of the day cooking brisket!!

Well, I basically took a plethora of my spices and mixed them together to make a nice rub. I cooked the brisket for about 1.5 hrs while I took the dogs to Fort Woof. I came back and that damn meat was smellin so good I almost started crying.

I reset the oven to 300 and poured some beer (don't worry, it was just bud light) and water in there then covered the pan with foil. 2 more hours to go...
