Default Comcast: “Worst Company in America”

Comcast Corp. plans to reduce the time customers wait for the cable guy after a consumer website last year voted it “Worst Company in America.”

Makes sense, I will never forgive those fuckers. They tried to charge me $500 for a cable box and $1000 in late bills a couple months after I moved out of my last apt complex. They said I kept their box. The problem is they kept boxes in the apt complex office and the comcast guy would install them and then you would return them when you left. I returned mine and called the installer guy that I had returned it. He later lied and said I didn't. I got a letter signed by the apt complex saying the box was there from the moment I left the apt complex. They still refused to drop the false late fees, but dropped the cable box charge. I got the BBB involved and it all disappeared very quickly.

Similar here, except I had a signed receipt from when I dropped the box off at one of their locations. They refused to refund the money I had overpaid them for my last month of service (you pay in advance w/ their billing cycles) until I returned their equipment. I refused to go stand in one of their slow-as-molasses lines to show them I already gave them their equipment back, so they threated to send me to collections.

In turn, I sent them a registered letter with a copy of the equipment drop-off receipt, and told them I would sue them for theft under a handy little law in FL if I didn't have my money back in 10 days.

I've paid DirecTv and ISP's a great deal of money since then just for the simple pleasure of not having to deal with Comcast again. And it has been worth every penny.

I can't wait to move to where we are moving to in Chattanooga. Chattanooga has a government utility as it's local utility provider. They were sued by and beat the Satelite/Phone/Cable providers, all of them. They provide cheap FiOS TV/Internet/Phone. I won't get it, but they provide 1 gig service. It's $300 a month. I could totally operate my own server and easily keep up with TWFix needs with it, lol.

I hate Comcast but where I live its either them or nothing.

I'm not a fan of them either. I went with AT&T and DSL to avoid using Comcast. As bad as Comcast is, AT&T has been monumentally worse and has me counting down the days to when I can go back to Comcast.

I hate comcast customer service is shit, worse than that really, but their TV and internet service is better than fios or satelite

I have and never had an issue. Never had a problem with services either, plus I get 2x more bandwidth than I pay for.
