I don't know who would be dumb enough to consider it a full replacement for stocks.......But there's nothing wrong with giving it say 5% of your portfolio. And as for "offers no income, no dividend, no earnings", you could always invest in mining stocks instead of the actual metal.

Gold will continue to be a good investment right up until it isn't. That is no different than tech stocks, oil, real estate, or any number of other investments.

Why buy gold or gold stocks when you can pan the stuff right out of the stream? Up in Blackhawk, they built a ton of Casinos right next to Clear Creek, a great place for panning gold. So you can gamble either way.

I know of several sand and gravel quarries that made more money from the gold they washed out from the sand than they did from selling the sand and gravel.

Have you ever heard a Glenn Beck gold ad? He makes the listener feel his is going to fail his family if he doesn't invest in gold.
