Just got home from a Christmas party with some people from work. The wonderful thing about working with some incredibly wonderful and amazingly hard working philipino women is all the excellent food they cook. I'm stuffed for weeks, plus have a bag full of leftovers. I fucking love the people I work with who aren't in my department.

Can you come work here, our damn registrar is little miss drama queen tonight and tonights claim is she has a sore throat. I figure when she tries to sleep later i will be waking her up to do some menail BS tasks I could prolly do myself.

And if she starts blaring her gospel/jesus music then its on. I have my mp3 player with me and its got more than enough music on there to get me fired

If I was up there, I'd give ya a hand. I know all to well the compounding problems that can be created by a lazy piece of shit registrar. I know that there's an importance to my job and that there are a lot of time sensitive things that can be affected by not doing it, but I'm not stupid enough to think I couldn't be replaced by a monkey with decent typing skills. Some of my fellow registrars seem to think the ER revolves around them and that they're untouchable.

We have a few of those here too. Some people cater to them, but I more or less let them know they are pieces of shit. Problem here is were a state hospital so its very hard to get canned, and theres a lot of politics.

karma did bite one of them though, they decided to come in as a patient while i was working and made them wait, they actualy went to another part of the ER and aske don eof the other docs to see them. which was fine with me, meant one less thing I had to do and I didnt have to interact with them or pretend that I cared

Fortunatley we have the kick ass registrar in the main ED so if I realy need help I go to her. But shes been getting on me since I havent made food for her in a while. Seems I need to keep my favorite people well fed to get stuff done

The secret to happy ER employees is food. It's always food, especially overnight. One of the charge nurses makes a huge vat of soup every single night that she works. One of the weekend docs brings in two dozen Dunkin Donuts and two of those boxes of their coffee. A couple times a month we have a pot luck and the philipino nurse mafia brings in all kinds of delicious food stuffs. One of the Docs cooked an assload of cookies every night she was working this past week. And you can bet we work our asses off just a little bit harder in appreciation.

I love working nights.
