Nothing like reinstituting the luxury tax.

For sure. I think home prices would be pretty bad the other way. I know home sales excluded but still there will be taxes on all the stuff to build the home.

I tink the whole point of the 9-9-9 is that it is made to be simple and across the board. And also to take a lot of power away from the IRS/Department of Treasury.

Those who want to tax the "rich" becuase they have more will never accept a non-progressive tax (as long as it progresses by taking more money from the wealthier)
