It would take time and they would need a sample to compare it to. it isn't done within 60 minutes like it is on TV. They also might not want to release any information until they could have a cause of death, which might not be evident from the remains that have been found so far.

I guess why is this particular case big news? Parent-child murder happens almost every week in America.

because it's a cute little white girl and an attractive young mom who could have had the world infront of her. Pathetic, but that's what the media does.

I know what she did.

What gets me, even if she DID drop the child off with a babysitter, why isn't she able to even produce the babysitter?

The story might be unique. The entire situation isn't unique... dead child, with everyone around the situation lieing about it. No real news there.
