And yet....we've all the money in the world (as long as China continues to be willing to loan it to us) to occupy Afghanistan....Iraq. Play policeman to the world. The costs of maintaining our Empire (and does anyone here TRULY believe we live in a Republic, rather than an Empire?) have outstripped our means....a complete collapse is only a matter of time....Ask the English....or the Ottomans....or the Romans before them.

We take more and more and more from "home"....to spend on bombs and bribes and bullets abroad....and the American people largely say nothing. Distracted...divided...and largely too ignorant to understand the ramifications of what has happened even IF they did pay attention long enough to notice.

It would be a farce...if it wasn't so damn true....and scary.

Well, I have somewhere else to go. I didn't like it as much as here, but that's waning.

Of course, if you talk about changing it, to better it, some conservative will tell me that if I don't like it here, to go elsewhere.

That's their solution. Not fixing it. Not making it better...but conservatively staying the course that is sure to run us aground.

Make any noise about change, and you're a hippie, or you belong in France.

Whatever. Like I said, I have alternatives. I'm gonna watch Rome burn, but then I'm eating my last marshmallow, and I'm leaving.

Y'all can enjoy the ruins...they make a nice tourist destination...eventually.
