Chicken Little all over the fucking place here. Did my normal Sunday grocery run and the place was EMPTY of stuff like bread and milk. We are in the middle of the fucking state with MOUNTAINS blocking the path of the damn hurricane and people are acting like it is the end of the damn world here. We got 104" of snow in ONE WEEKEND a few years back and nobody said a WORD but everyone is freaking the fuck out about some wind and rain here? WTF? NYC has to worry but CNY? Come on. They are even closing schools early today.

You folks in the city, watch your asses!

Same shit here.

By the looks of the supermarket, you'd think a giant asteroid was about to hit.

To make matters worse, the fuckers bought up ALL the Sierra Nevada. Fuck milk and bread, where's all the goddamn beer?

Motherfucker, I can't wait for snow. Just put on new Simmons Flex Ski's (8" wide version), D&D Headers and pipes, 1 3/4" lag, and the newest version of the Boondocker. Plus I thre in new D&D high compression pistons, valves, and rings at the end of last season. May get the heads shaved before the white gold comes too. Its gonna move really fast. Till it blows anyway.

I shredded my old lag and ski's drag racing on pave after I put the high compression kit in.

A friend of mine lost his (beach) house last night to storm surge. His last status update was that he was abandoning his house and it was moving

I've been on the road a lot this year, so no time to brew...

But- I did make a batch yesterday, and will probably do up another one tomorrow, since it looks like I'll be snowed in for a couple days.

The wife picked up jugs of water and the essentials.

I got my own essentials... I have a case of Sam Adams ready.

Sandy is going to hit us later this afternoon and the worst of it should be over by mid morning tomorrow. Chain saw is all fueled up and ready for action.

Storm surges here is the big concern. Rain/wind hasnt been that bad yet but a lot of streets around here are flooded. Theres one road that goes in and out of here so long as thats passable were ok. A lot of houses by the channels are already hammered has a ways to go before it would get to us, but high tides in about 7 hrs so that will get interesting.
