Anyone pickup the new 3G iphone yet

Just sick & tired of ATT tho, but I may have to suck it up and get one. Looks like it's going to take longer than expected before Verizon is available on it?

I'd wait, the S version isnt that big of an upgrade. If you held off this long, I would wait for the 4G stuff to start rolling out.

Not yet but I'm looking at one. The 8G can be had for only $100. The wife wants a blackberry so we might switch from Verizon to AT&T just to get the iPhone. Not sure why a stay at home mom needs a smart phone, but she wants one and I'm a douche for letting her get what she wants.

I'd hold off if you dont need one right now...my hubby's boss got one, after playing with my hubbys 3g 2nd gen, as I understand it, the only difference is the size of the memory and the fact that its voice activated, you can tell it what to do...unlike older models.

They really upgraded the processor, bus, and cache to make it a lot faster from what I hear. I wish I could get it on Verizon and there are rumors that Verizon will be getting an Apple mobile device (tablet?) at the end of this year or the beginning of next year but nothing concrete.

I have a Touch and with the new 3.0 software Im really looking forward to seeing what kinds of devices well be able to use with the port.

think she could just use the computer. Nah, it's an image thing for her with her friends. Got to keep a happy wife though.

The next network advance to make phones faster while surfing and sending/receiving info

It's not that much faster, it just has a few tweaks. It's not really worth it yet, maybe another price cut or better deal when you got the old gens for a $100 less. Or if you can get a older gen for cheap with no contract.
