Blaming that ordeal on anybody but Brazilians is deflection at best. They're under pressure to clean up for their olympic bid, yes, but putting a 7-year-old in that role was their mistake.

They're certainly under pressure, I'm not taking anything away from that. However, they made a bad call. The Chinese government initiated several "clean our city" acts that drew global scrutiny during their preparation to host the Olympics. I don't recall anybody holding "western pressure" accountable over the government then, and I don't agree with it in this case.
There had to be someone in RdJ government that knew this was a bad idea. Hopefully more than just one person. And it was on them to step forward and do the right thing. |

Ok, I do realize that the role is traditionally sexual...
